Monty joined Edwards Lifesciences in August 2023 from University College London where he was the inaugural Chair of Anesthesia and Critical Care for over 20 years. Prior to returning to the UK in 1997 Monty held a faculty position in the Department of Anesthesiology at Duke University Medical Center.
Monty’s previous leadership roles have included the National Clinical Lead for Enhanced Surgical Recovery for the UK Government; Founding Director and Chair of Evidence Based Perioperative Medicine (EBPOM) and Director of the Xtreme Everest Research Consortium performing large scale research at high altitude. Monty started the Podcast TopMedTalk with Desiree Chappell and served as the founding Editor-in-Chief until August 2023.
